Officer Sentenced: Beat Mentally Ill Man to Death

All he wanted was a Snickers bar. Instead, the mentally ill janitor (pictured) was beaten to death by police. Officer Karl F. Thompson Jr., 65, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Fred Van Sickle to four years and three months for his role in the 2006 death of Otto Zehm, a mentally disabled janitor who was killed after being erroneously suspected of stealing money from an ATM.

It is seldom that a week goes by without another beating or shooting death by police officers who kill mentally ill Americans. The mentally ill need DOG JUSTICE.
