After a lifetime of psychiatric disability, Pamela Spiro Wagner co-authored DIVIDED MINDS: Twin Sisters and Their Journey Through Schizophrenia (St Martins Press, 2005) with her identical twin sister, Carolyn S. Spiro, MD, a psychiatrist. There are now and have always been people like Pam who made valuable contributions to society despite mental illness. No one deserves to be incarcerated for having a common, treatable health condition.
